Writer of romcoms and fine literature

This isn’t a photo of me. It’s a photo of my bear, Snuffles, reviewing our website.

I live in New York, close to Central Park. I don’t have a golden retriever, but I’d love him if I did. I play the piano, but not well. I sometimes bake fruitcake; I like fruitcake.

Tessa is a top-flight concert pianist who won’t stand for anyone trying to tell her what pieces she should play—not even an attractive, concert-sponsoring billionaire. She lets Chuck Brown know she’s in charge of her own life by seducing him with her special version of Beethoven’s Appassionata played in three movements: at her dinner table, on her piano and in her bedroom. The two embark on a courtship that takes them through the boroughs of New York City. Chuck showers Tessa with sapphires, diamonds and gold. Noting his gifts are store-bought, in contrast to her homemade presents to him, she wonders if this man of many qualities shares enough of her artistic interests and values to fit into her music-centric world. While she grapples with the possibility that their relationship might have no future, Charlie Brown delves into his past, rediscovering skills of yesteryear and his own true name to handcraft a unique gift that will touch her soul.

New York Sonata is a happy book about falling in love, that offers something for everyone.

  • A heroine as a quirky as Eleanor Oliphant while truly being completely fine, and as a passionate as Anna Karenina though indifferent to trains.

  • Thrilling action! Trips to exotic foreign places across water like Brooklyn and Staten Island! Encounters with dangerous wild animals like Canada geese! A daring rescue by helicopter from Cleveland!

  • The wisdom of the entire world wide web, delivered by an AI program moonlighting as a romance consultant.

  • Fine music, a golden retriever, sparkly jewels and lots of cake.

Everything’s better with French fries

Jenny Esposito, general all-purpose fixer-upper, is assigned by her best-friend-forever, Tessa, the task of patching up the relationship between Tessa and her dismissed billionaire CEO boyfriend. The best route to the boyfriend appears to be through his right-hand woman, Gwen, who’s rumored to be a vampire though Jenny’s own investigations suggest she’s more likely a Manchurian princess. As Jenny’s involvement with Gwen deepens, she struggles with the Barry Manilow Even Now conundrum:whether it’s possible to commit to someone else if you’re in love with your bff. Luckily, Rita the parrot is available to provide moral and hairdressing support as well as expertise in high-end Manhattan real estate.
